Paying It Forward
Owned and operated by the Elmhurst Park District, Courts Plus recognizes the importance of investing into the community it calls home! Membership dues and program fees pay for Courts Plus operating expenses, any additional revenue helps pay for new projects in the Park District. We truly are the community fitness center!
Beyond the use of our profits, Courts Plus recognizes the importance of investing in the community by partnering with local charities. We do this with the help of our generous members.
Courts Plus participates in several collection programs, including Toys for Tots, the AAUW Book Collection, the United Community Concerns Association, Yorkfield Food Pantry and Soles for Kids, which distributes shoes throughout the world to those in need.
The annual John Jevitz Turkey Tennis Tournament, held around Thanksgiving, collects food for the Yorkfield Food Pantry. During Thanksgiving we are a sponsor for the Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot 5K, which raises money to combat hunger and poverty in DuPage County.
We're proud to host the Hit for the Hospital Charity Tennis Tournament, which benefits the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Courts Plus has helped contribute to local student-led projects, such as Hygiene for Humanity, which provides travel size items for personal hygiene kits for the homeless.
The City of Elmhurst and Elmhurst Park District partner with SCARCE for holiday lights recycling. Members and Courts Plus visitors are welcome to drop off their tangled, broken or burned out holiday lights to Courts Plus during that time. Look for more information during the fall months.
